Happy Festivus!

My siblings and families got together yesterday at my mom's house. We have stretched out the Thanksgiving Day celebration to include any other holiday we don't get a chance to be all together on. My bro and family live in Tennessee so thus we see each other live and in person usually in July and Thanksgiving.

Thus we did a big blow out yesterday and had a grand time. Good eats to top off just the pleasure of being all together again.

And that folks, is the best.

Thanksgiving Greetings

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I’m having a need for an attitude adjustment, so I think I will list all the things I am thankful for, and then it will change my outlook today!

My family
My husband’s family
That my mother is healthy. She may not remember what she had for lunch, but she is healthy!
That my daughter is so loving
That we have a house to call our own
That we have jobs
That we have vehicles
That we don’t over do so we don’t live pay check to pay check
That my immediate family will all be together for Thanksgiving again this year!
All the extras that my sister Mary does
That I have so many wonderful friends in this world!
Our health is good.

Okay, there are at least 12 positives. That’s a lot said there.
I always try to think about what is going on that I deem so horrible, and then do a reality check on it all. Makes me realize that although at the moment the event that stressing me out, the reality of the situation is that things could be worse. And, after the late summer we experienced, what with losing sweet Kit and dear Ellie, things can only move forward and more positively!

And it is always so good to be so loved!

Loving hugs and kisses to you!

Then When Jesus Calls Us . . .

Then when Jesus calls us
to our heavenly home
we would gladly answer
"Savior, Lord, we come"

The Gales Of November

Hello everybody . . . well it looks like the gales of November are to be upon Lake Superior any time now. Hopefully there will be no sad events for anyone to put to tune. Of course there will never be any recording of the Gitche Gumee like Gordon Lightfoot recorded. Here's a tid bit of it to spark yous memory, Or perhaps yous don't need the spark, hey? I's remember the song well.:

The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead
When the skies of November turn gloomy.

With a load of iron ore - 26,000 tons more
Than the Edmund Fitzgerald weighed empty
That good ship and true was a bone to be chewed
When the gales of November came early

I've seen the lake in winter . . . oh man, when the wind is blowing and the waves are crashing against the rock shore at Presque Isle Park, which is near Marquette Michigan . . . wow, what a site.

I never saw it during as strong of wind as the glale that sunk the Edmund, I can't even begin to imagine the waters then . . . and bbbbbbrrrrrrr talk about cold . . . makes my nose hairs freeze together just thinking about it!

heck, I better go have a hot chocolate now!

Love ya!
